I've spent 18+ years in software, moving through gaming, Samsung's R&D group, Sapient, and now Chegg — starting from an Electronics and Communication Engineering degree at IIT Roorkee in 2008. Since 2022 I've been working inside Chegg's AI environment: building AI products, and using AI itself as a working part of how I develop software, not just something I read about. Different industries, same recurring question: once a tool makes the mechanical part of the work faster, what's actually left for a human to do well?
AI made producing output cheap. It didn't make judgment cheap. Every team I've worked with that adopted AI well didn't get there by writing more code faster — they got there by getting sharper about what to build, what to skip, and when a fast answer from a model was actually the wrong one to trust. That's the pattern this site is built around: code review, estimation, and leadership on one side; markets, economics, and the industries AI is reshaping on the other. Same argument, different altitude. When code is cheap, judgment is priceless.
Right now I'm working through the IAPP AIGP (AI Governance Professional) certification and an executive program at IIT Kharagpur, both aimed at the same gap: most AI governance conversations are still catching up to what the tools can already do.
